Your Strange Companions are a Portland, Ore., band performing original country and rockabilly music from the bandleader’s ancestral homeland, a mythical place on highway 45, halfway between Memphis and Nashville. The band is constructed in the mode of the legendary Sun Studios combos of old, featuring upright bass, acoustic rhythm guitar, electric lead, and minimalist drums. The songwriting style can best be described as “thinking songs for the drinking man, and vice versa.” Swinging, singing, dancing, and general merriment are highly encouraged.
